Style Cafe Moms, well known for delivering delicious gift baskets to celebrities as well as offering
public relations services for the Work At Home Mom and small businesses, including product
placement, business promotion, brand awareness and general marketing, recently gifted three
celebrity moms to raise awareness in regards to new CPSIA Law regarding lead testing.
The Style Café Moms CPSIA Awareness Celebrity Baskets were produced together with help from
our clients, all of whom will be affected by the CPSIA Law. This law, although originated to protect
our children, is creating financial devastation to businesses whose products pose no threat to
children and never have. The law is written too vague and broad and is retroactive. With that
being said, when and if the law is passed it will be unlawful for retailers to have inventory on their
shelves that they can’t provide certificates for, causing them thousands of dollars in lost inventory.
With each test having a cost of $300+, it will be impossible for the small and some larger
businesses to stay afloat - the test must be done for every production run, color variation, and
repeated again on the same product when produced again costing businesses thousands of
dollars, when that product may only make them a few hundred dollars a year itself.
Fortunately this law has been stayed for one year and does not pose an immediate threat to
these businesses, however this issue will be eventually in the forefront of concern for these
business owners. Celebrities and others can lend their voice or send a letter to let congress
letting them know that such a law would many businesses to close their doors and stop the
development of great products such as the ones included in this gift basket. Style Café Moms
